from the date of your embarkation from this country, and to full salary from the date of your arrival in the Colony. In the event of your appointment being cancelled, you will not be entitled to any leave of absence or pay after the date of the letter by which the cancellation is notified to you, unless

the Governor, subject to the approval of the Secretary of State, shall grant it on special

grounds.

9. I am to request that you will in-

form me of the earliest date at

which you will be prepared to leave for the Colony, in order that the necessary communi- cations may be made to the Governor and to

the Crown Agents. The fovernor has asked

that the person selected should arrive in

the Colony not later thar the 11th of May,

and it is acecrdingly very desirable that

you should leave without delay.
